Must be some mega-crappy teams you played against. And no, you don't do serious damage, tanks don't do that.

There's a very good reason you are the last person alive. Good teams know better than to even acknowledge a Warrior that cannot hurt them.

He just said that he DID hurt them. Do you really think that all the teams battling for the Hall of Heroes are "mega-crappy". Also, tanks can't do the kind of damage a Pyromancer or Aeromancer can, but they can do a decent amount.

Uh..
Just go hammers.. that'll give you more respect..
and don't be the typical W/Mo..
Not so good with the Platemail helm, btw. heh.

In PvE, Warriors (aka "Tanks" or "Noobs") are essential to any team.
Yes, in PvP, they are not needed, but knockdown combos are just so much fun..

And uh.. to Dreamcatcher.. You sound like the typical "elite" rushing into battle warrior with your arrogance...

Btw Anti-Theory, people tend to attack W/Mo's last.

I am a hammer warrior, as a matter of fact.

What the hell is the deal with the platemail helm thing though? Its just a headshot of my primary GW character. Something wrong with that?

Here's A Thought:

Without a W/Mo, how would you have gotten to Drok's Forge to get that best armor in the game?

Oh Yes, that's right.. you would of had to done every mission except for the last... 5?

So the next time you think we are worthless, please look at your rushed mules and feel mercy.

Thanks.

there is a between for warriors to fight the next group before adren dissapears and casters to regain their energy.... its called <censored>ing energy managment. Make a Life Bond monk with constant energy degen and have fun with wars. Make an ether renewal smiting ele/monk and have even more fun with wars. Best yet, make a order of vampire/ order of pain/ dark fury support necro and make the monk's job so easy that they don't NEED to rest for energy.

I think a better case could be made for waiting for the warrior's For Great Justice to recharge before hitting the next group....

And PvE tanks own..... a good warrior tank + an ele/mo smiter can take out a ton of the mobs by themselves in perdition rock. Gladiators defense --> bonnetti's defense. Just stay out of the war's aggro bubble and the necro meelee mobs won't hit you with lingering, then you can smite them all day long off the war.

The only way to do damage as a tank is to use your teammates or your secondary class. Smiting/swords/tactics warmos do a decent chunk of damage with zealot's fire. Teams need a warrior to hug the enemies so that the smiters can smite well off them more than a tank, so knockdowns and/or snares are more important than defense.

And ele/mo smiters make much better tanks vs phys damage than warriors do, especially in pvp where enemy teams might go after the smiters.... ether renewal + aura of restoration with draw conditions or divine boon spam is more self healing than a warmo can ever put out.

I think warrs would be more viable in pvp if their energy regen is increased by 1 or their primary warr skills be reduced in energy consumption. Also warrs definitely need more status inducing skills as to compete. Skills like hamstring should cost 7-8energy and not 10. it takes 10seconds to fill your bar from 0, at that time your dmg done will have been negated and you'll start at the beginning again.

Also, IMHP, its the balance the dev were aiming for that caused this. In order to cater to pve and pvp, some classes ended being more specialized for more than the other.

Oh well i love warriors in random pvp. My ranger eats them for breakfast. Most of them dont have condition removal and most of them are using the paladin build. pin down judges insight and spam skills. Unless they have a monk its pretty easy

Without Warriors, no build could complete any mission, tomb, or gvg

ever wonder why spike groups suck so much?
well theres yer sign
LoL..
Spike Teams were winning HoH without warriors, for much of the time about a month and a half ago, and Spirit spam uses R/W in place of Wars for much of the time..

Warriors are not needed for PvP.. they are a nice addition to stop enemy monks. That is all. Now yes, Warriors are nice in PvE. Very nice in fact. But there are too many who don't know how to play. In fact, any sub-class W can perform much of the functions that a W primary would do. If played right, they can be amazing in PvP, with a primary function as monk knockdown, or smite/"tank." But as I said, nearly every other class can perform the same function as warriors, so long as they have the W sub-class. It is hard to be a nuker without energy storage, and it is hard to be a pure energy drain mes without fast cast. But you can be a tank without strength for PvE. Warriors, yes you are good, but you are not "teh b3st" (to quote a war I saw the other day). You deserve what respect you perform up to, no more. So don't be leeroy jenkins, and don't expect anything. Sure, PvP is harder without you, but we can do it. Without an ele, some missions are un-do-able. Without a monk, nearly every mission is undoable. But without a warrior primary, you can complete every mission but one or two.

They would be more viable in PvP with an energy boost, and this is why there are R/W's running around. Expertise works well for a warrior.

And Photon: Yes, they're good as runners, and.. we know this. If we need a runner then we ask a warrior. But heh, you forget. there are ways to run around.. you can get to sanctum with a ranger (not easily, but you can). You run to Grendich -> Yak's -> Beacon's.. a few missions and then run to Sanctum. And yes, that would mean we'd have to wait till anmoon to get the 71armor for much cheaper/armor point than drok's price..

All classes are equally valid and equally useful if played properly. If you think otherwise you are simply displaying your personal ignorance of how to play them effectively. I love my W/Mo as much as my Mo/Me my E/Me and my N/E. All are great fun to play and each serves their own purpose.

Lay off the crack pipe people.

Hmm..if warriors are so weak, those antimelee skills probably not needed anyway and Anet should just downtone/rid of them, yes?

I have to say that my opinion of them has changed as I've gotten farther in the missions.

In the early missions, warriors can be total morons, who think because they tank they should be in charge.

But as I've gotten farther down the line, there are warriors who really know how to use their class. Everytime I form a group, I ask the warriors two questions.

Do you run ahead of the group or stay and help the team?
Can we rely on you not to pull the group into a killing scenario?

And you know every class has n00bs, and I'm starting to think its just the same n00bs over and over again. Creating different characters.

If you see someone speaking in L337, dont bring them along.

Warriors..... Owwww, that's right: the class that never stops to let me regen Energy. Or rushes in and blames me for not healing them just 4 minutes after I said I was a Prot/Smit-monk. Or the class that only takes other warriors and monks into their group because "they 0wnz0r" and Mesmer/Rangers/Necros "suxx0rzzzzzz".

Fact is that the Warrior is a cookiecut-prefab build, that attracts 'most' new players. Bashing things till they drop dead is somehow easier to understand and control than - just an example - playing a Mesmer and slowly hurting your enemy with Conjure Phantasm and Empathy. Bashing things without thinking is noob. Being a Interrupt Warrior that knows when to use BloodRitual or Wards is better. I have more respect for the last one. Too bad they are so few.....

well lets get back to topic.. warriors suck for tanking. i was once in a team, with a "godly" warrior, boasting about the 1 million xp he has. he was even wearing a fissure armor!! the moment we stepped into uw, he started aggroin every single axe blades, even though half our team where still loading!! when they arrived, they were immediately attack by 5 axe blades!! I was one of the monk in the team but did not bothered to heal the "godly" warrior..=p.. warriors are such noobish aggressive nut-heads, unlike the invinci-monks, when they aggro, they always get the job done.=D (thats me)
